At New Mexico River Adventures, we are always coming up with new and different itineraries to suit all tastes and levels of adventure.  With so many different options on both the Rio Grande and Rio Chama, its hard to know exactly which rafting trip is right for you.  Whether you’re a first timer and just want an introduction to whitewater and ‘river life’ or you are a seasoned rafter looking for the next best trip, we always have something new and exciting for you.

Scenic Rio Grande Through the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument
We have worked extremely hard at creating specific and accurate descriptions of each trip and more importantly of the experience we think and hope you will have on your trip with us.  However, sometimes those descriptions are not specific enough or its just hard to get the complete idea behind each adventure.  In these cases it is always best to call one of our friendly reservation staff.  We are all eager to talk to our guests about each and every New Mexico rafting trip we offer.  Or just to chat about different rivers and river running in general! If you’re looking for extreme whitewater, you might want to think about time of year as much as the specific trip.  Typically the water levels are higher in April and May than July and August.  We always recommend calling us to find out our prediction on the peak runoff of the season and when water levels will most likely be at their highest.  As for the specific trips, the Taos Box and the Razorblades sections of the Rio Grande will always have the highest difficulty rating.  However, the most important thing to remember is that there is always trips to challenge even the most experienced rafters.  Try Stand Up Paddleboarding and kayaking, both inflatable and hard shell.
Inflatable Kayaking on the Racecourse
If you are a first timer and looking for something a little more focused on the river canyon and wildlife as opposed to the whitewater.  Or you may be a family with younger kids and you’re looking for the perfect day long adventure for everyone in the family.  You might consider the Rio Grande Gorge full day, Rio Chama full day or the Racecourse half day trip.  The most important thing to remember is that the Rio Grande Gorge and Racecourse trips run everyday of the week from April 1st until Oct.1st.
