Our premier overnight trip in the Rio Grande Gorge. Combines the Lower Taos Box with the Lower Gorge sections of the Rio Grande for a total of nearly 30 miles of Wild and Scenic River. Nowhere else can you find the same quality whitewater in such a remote and pristine canyon with incredible wildlife viewing opportunities. Contained in the depths of the Rio Grande Gorge below 800 feet of basalt. The trip begins just outside of Taos at the historic John Dunn Bridge and the confluence of the Rio Grande and the Arroyo Hondo. Through the "Box" we'll experience some of the greatest whitewater and scenery in the southwest. Tonight we'll pull over to camp on the banks of the river and enjoy an amazing dinner prepared by your guides. In the morning you'll wake up to a hot cup of coffee and a beautiful breakfast before loading up the rafts anf continuing downstream. A nice scenic float this morning through the Orilla Verde Recreation Area and the historic village of Pilar will deliver gives us a great finish to the trip through the famous whitewater of the Racecourse section of the Rio Grande. Trip may be run in reverse order due to BLM launch schedule.
